Somerset County Office on Aging & Disability Services to Hold Free Virtual Support Group
‘Connecting Caregivers: A Support Group for Family Caregivers’
SOMERVILLE, NJ – Join other family caregivers to learn how to manage caregiver burnout in “Connecting Caregivers: A Support Group for Family Caregivers,” led by Case Manager Christina Panarese, M.S.W., from the Office on Aging & Disability Services. The program will be held via Zoom from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., beginning Wednesday, May 12, and continuing every Wednesday for six months on June 9, July 7, Aug. 11, Sept. 8, and Oct. 13. The deadline to register is May 7.
Because self-care is as important as caregiving and essential for living a healthy and satisfying life, caregivers who feel they would benefit from social support and education should register for this program. Participants will have the opportunity to share advice with their peers, learn strategies for stress management, learn about valuable resources and understand how to cope more effectively.
For more information about the program, and to complete the required pre-registration form contact the Office on Aging and Disability Services Case Manager Christine Panarese, M.S.W., at 908-704-6346.
The Office on Aging and Disability Services is a designated Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC), designed to streamline access to long-term care support services, health promotion, and education. Services link seniors, their caregivers, and adults with disabilities to the programs and the support needed to remain independent and active in the community.
