New Jersey American Water is flushing its water distribution system in South Bound Brook from March 18th to March 20th for testing to ensure that our customers continue to receive high-quality water service. Flushing also allows us to monitor and maintain fire hydrants. When crews are working in your area, you may notice reduced pressure, cloudy appearance or discolored water. If you experience cloudy and or discolored water, open a cold water faucet from the closest point where the water pipe enters the property and allow the water to flow for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Repeat this flushing step once or twice within an hour as necessary until the water clears.
