Leadership Somerset Offers Virtual Information Sessions

Find out More About the Program and Interact with Alumni

Adults who live or work in Somerset County are invited to learn more about Leadership Somerset, a community leadership program, by attending one of our virtual Information Sessions.

“I am a proud Leadership Somerset alum. I invite people to join one of our virtual Information Sessions to learn more about this wonderful, diverse program,” said Commissioner Melonie Marano, program liaison. “These sessions give you an opportunity to ask questions of alumni and find out what their personal experience was like.”

Following are the dates and times of the Information Sessions. Registration is requested in advance by visiting https://bit.ly/LSEvents22 or by clicking on one of the dates below:

Wednesday, Sept. 28 – 4 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 13 – 1 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 19 – 4 p.m.

Benefits of the program include networking with community leaders, learning more about Somerset County and making an impact in the community.

“The program is held one day a month, beginning in January, and each session focuses on a different topic. Participants will interact with local leaders on topics like government, economy, justice and public safety, human services, community health and the environment,” said Commissioner Paul Drake, program liaison. “Throughout the year, class members will discuss capacities of positive leadership and may enjoy class trips, which offer new perspectives and access to a variety of resources.”

The majority of the cost to attend the year-long adult leadership program is underwritten by the Somerset County Board of County Commissioners.  Leadership Somerset participants are asked to contribute a program fee of $450 for the year, which covers participation in all sessions, materials and meals.  Limited scholarships based on financial need are available.  Applications, which are due by Monday, Oct. 31, can be found at  www.co.somerset.nj.us/LS_Apply.
