Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability to Hold Public Hearing Via Zoom
2022 Area Plan Contract Update to Be Introduced, Forum Provides Residents an Opportunity to Voice Their Opinions About Services Needed
SOMERVILLE, NJ – On June 9 at 10:30 a.m., the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services and its Advisory Council will hold a public hearing via Zoom. In this forum, residents will learn about the programs and services available to adults age 60-years and above and persons with disabilities as well as the 2022 Area Plan Contract Update. Residents will also have an opportunity to identify and comment about the needs of their communities, recommend potential solutions and voice their opinions about home and community-based services related to the populations served.
Aging and Disability service providers will discuss the programs currently available, the transitions that are occurring and offer suggestions about moving forward (to include post-pandemic programs). Members of the public will also have an opportunity to voice their concerns related to community-based services so the aging population and persons with disabilities can remain safely in their community.
The 2022 Area Plan Contract Update helps identify the trends and conditions that affect the county’s aging population, the objectives to meet their current needs, the strategies implemented to meet the objectives, and the spending plan.
To register for the public hearing, or for more information contact Caitlin Witucki, Office on Aging and Disability Services at 908-704-6339.
Written comments will be accepted up to June 9, 2021, as part of the public record for this hearing. Comments can be mailed to the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services, Attention: Joanne C. Fetzko, Executive Director, P.O. Box 3000, Somerville, NJ 08876.
The 2022 Area Plan Contract Update provides services that are funded under Title III of the Older Americans Act, Supplemental Aging Supportive Services (formally known as the Social Services Block Grant), State Safe Housing and Transportation, Adult Protective Services, Casino Revenues, and state, county and local funds.
The Office on Aging and Disability Services connects seniors, their caregivers and adults with disabilities to the programs and services they need to remain independent and active in their community.
