Basking Ridge Offers Gentle Yoga Class – Register by June 3
BERNARDS, NJ – Residents ages 60-years and above can register for Yoga with Jillian, a gentle yoga class appropriate for participants with all levels of skill. The eight-week class will begin on June 17 at the Somerset County Senior Wellness Center at Basking Ridge, located at 202 Mt. Airy Road, Basking Ridge. The deadline to register is June 3.
According to the National Institution of Aging (NIA), exercise for older adults can improve their mood, enhance emotional well-being, increase energy levels and improve sleep. Specifically, yoga is a healthy way to relieve stress.
Yoga with Jillian
In this gentle-flow yoga class, participants will practice poses while sitting in a chair or standing (depending on their level of comfort). Practicing specific yoga poses in this class will help release tension in the neck, shoulders and spine. Each session will conclude with guided relaxation to ensure that all participants feel rested and refreshed when they leave.
