Somerset County Park Commission to Celebrate July 4th with Free, Fun, Food, Fireworks, and ‘The Fabulous Greaseband’

BRIDGEWATER, NJ – Celebrate Independence Day while watching fireworks, listening to great music, enjoying food, and seeing a Revolutionary War reenactment. The festivities will occur on Monday, July 4, at the Somerset County Park Commission’s North Branch Park on Milltown Road in Bridgewater. Gates to the park will open at 6 p.m. The rain date is Tuesday, July 5. Admission is free.

Historical Reenactment by the “Jersey Blues”

Visitors can watch the “Jersey Blues” reenact a Revolutionary War encampment from 6 to 9 p.m. “Jersey Blues” is part of a national historical organization that dedicates its time to accurately portraying citizens and soldiers living during the American Revolution.

 

“The Fabulous Greaseband”

The public will enjoy “The Fabulous Greaseband” from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. and 10 to 11 p.m. A seven-member, high-energy, party-time band will be performing the best rock ‘n’ roll dance songs of the past few decades.

 

Fireworks

Visitors can watch fantastic fireworks flying high at 9:30 p.m.

Food Trucks

Enjoy tasty pizza, ice cream, wings, pitas, egg rolls, and hot dogs.

Safety Guidelines

The Somerset County Park Commission and the Bridgewater Police ask the public to arrive early to avoid parking delays.

  • Parking will not be allowed on Routes 202 and 22.

The Park Commission will allow picnic baskets but prohibits:

  • Personal fireworks
  • Alcohol

Traffic delays will occur 30 minutes after the fireworks show ends to allow pedestrians time to exit the park and safely gain access to pedestrian pathways.
