Somerset County Park Commission to Host Free Art Exhibit ‘Nature:
Abstraction and Observation’
BASKING RIDGE, NJ – Explore nature’s beauty through the eyes of local artists at the free art exhibit “Nature: Abstraction and Observation.” The Somerset County Park Commission’s Environmental Education Center (EEC) will host the event from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 31 to Monday, Sept. 26. The EEC is located at 190 Lord Stirling Road, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. The exhibit will be closed on Sept. 5 for the Labor Day holiday.
People of all ages will enjoy the free exhibit featuring abstract and realistic images of nature depicted through paintings, collages, and encaustic drawings.
Sponsoring the art exhibit is the Westfield Art Association, which is a non-profit, volunteer-only organization that supports members while they pursue their artistic goals. The association has been providing art education and hosting public exhibitions since 1922.
The EEC will host a reception for the artists that is open to the public on Friday, Sept. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information, contact the EEC at 908-722-1200 Ext. 5002.
