Somerset County Park Commission to Offer New Outdoor Program “Moonlight Meander”
Participants Can Stay Active and Safe During the Pandemic
SOMERVILLE, NJ – The Somerset County Park Commission’s Environmental Education Center will be hosting “Moonlight Meander,” a new outdoor program for people of all ages who enjoy the outdoors and want to stay active and safe during the pandemic.
Participants will love walking through the park under a full moon and learning about a variety of topics, such as wildlife, maple sugaring, nocturnal birds and more. A new topic will be explored each month. Weather-appropriate clothing and waterproof boots are required for all park programs.
Programs, Date, Time, Location and Cost
Participants should meet at the Environmental Education Center, located at 190 Lord Stirling Road, in Basking Ridge, NJ. The cost for the program is $9 per student and senior, and $10 per adult.
The following programs are available:
- “Sapsuckers,” Friday, Feb. 18, from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
- “PEENT!” Friday, March 18, from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Preregistration Is Required

COVID Restrictions
Participants are required to wear masks during programs when social distancing is not possible. Visitors must wear masks when inside the county’s buildings regardless of their vaccination status.
Participants should not attend the programs if:
- Feeling ill
- Have symptoms of COVID-19
- Have been in close contact with a person who has COVID-19
- Travelled internationally within 14 days of the start of the class they are planning to attend
