Somerset County Promotes Adopt-A-Family
to Help Feed Neighbors In-Need This Thanksgiving
It’s Not Too Late to Donate!
SOMERVILLE, NJ – Recently, the Somerset County Board of County Commissioners launched the 12th annual Adopt-A-Family program to help food banks collect donations to purchase Thanksgiving meals for county families in need. There is still time for residents to donate $45 online or by sending a check to any of the participating food banks of their choice. Any donation amount will be gratefully accepted.
“Food bank supplies have been strained due to the pandemic and Hurricane Ida, with some organizations temporarily closing their doors due to flooding which has depleted their supplies and resources,” said Somerset County Commissioner Director Shanel Y. Robinson. “I ask all of my Somerset County friends and neighbors to donate to Adopt-A-Family over the next few weeks, so that every family has a happy Thanksgiving.”
Donors can send checks made payable to any of the following food banks:
- Feeding Hands Inc., C/O Emmanuel Church, 100 Grant Ave., Somerville, NJ 08876 or
C/O Manville Reformed Church, 238 S. Fifth Ave., Manville, NJ 08835
- Food Bank Network of Somerset County, P.O. Box 149, Bound Brook, NJ 08805
- Franklin Food Bank, P.O. Box 333, Somerset, NJ 08875-0333
- Hillsborough Food Pantry, Attn: Social Services Department, 379 South Branch Road, Hillsborough, NJ 08844
- Reformed Church of Bound Brook, P.O. Box 347, South Bound Brook, NJ 08880
- SHIP – Samaritan Homeless Interim Program, 87 East High St., Somerville, NJ 08876
Checks must be postmarked by Saturday, Nov. 20, to reach organizations in time for Thanksgiving. Donors should write Adopt-A-Family on the memo line of their checks. A donation form should be included with the check. To print a donation form, go to https://bit.ly/AAFForm2021.
