Somerset County Seeks Volunteers for Fall Leaf Clean-Up Project

Volunteers Can Help the Elderly and Disabled Prepare for Winter

SOMERVILLE, NJ – The Somerset County Office of Volunteer Services is seeking individuals and groups to volunteer for its annual Fall Leaf Clean-Up project. Each year, on the weekend before Thanksgiving, volunteers rake leaves for the county’s elderly and disabled homeowners who are unable to do their yard work.

Volunteering is a great opportunity for friends, families, church groups, sports teams, Girl Scouts and BSA Scout Troops, 4-H Clubs, high school clubs, or other groups to help their community. Sign up early so that plans can be made to serve as many residents as possible.

The annual leaf clean-up project is a one-day event that will occur on Saturday, Nov. 19. Anyone who would like to volunteer but cannot make it on Nov. 19 is welcome to schedule an alternative date and time through the Office of Volunteer Services.

Elderly or disabled Somerset County residents who need this service can call the Office of Volunteer Services AFTER Oct. 1.

For more information, and to sign up as a volunteer call the Somerset County Office of Volunteer Services at 908-704-6301 or email VolunteerSvs@co.somerset.nj.us.
