Wellness Wednesdays Sessions in May

Free Workshops Available on Zoom

SOMERVILLE, NJ – The Somerset County Department of Human Services has scheduled Wellness Wednesday sessions throughout May in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month. The free workshops, which start at 12 p.m., are held on Zoom. Pre-registration is requested.

Over the past year, the COVID pandemic and its accompanying economic crisis has increased the need for mental health services. Isolation, sickness, grief, job loss and food instability have taken their toll on family, friends, classmates, neighbors and coworkers.  The Department of Human Services is offering the Wellness Wednesday sessions to give residents an easy way to attend to their health while remaining social distant.

Eight Dimensions of Wellness – May 5

This presentation covers the eight dimensions of wellness including physical, emotional/mental, environmental, spiritual, social, occupational, intellectual and financial. All aspects are important when taking care of ourselves.  Participants will learn how to practice self-care within each of dimension.
